Historical Note

Dover Court Preparatory School, registered with the Singapore Ministry of Education, is owned and managed by International Preparatory Schools (Pte.) Ltd., a company incorporated in the Republic of Singapore. Both the school and the company were founded more than thirty years ago by the late Chairman, Mr Ernest Alliott, who, prior to that, had been a British Government Headmaster in Singapore for many years during which time he was a well-known and active participator in educational research and development on the international scene. Mr Alliott was the author of the series of textbooks "Ways to Mathematics" published by Longmans and he also contributed to the development of a number of multi-media approaches with several major publishers in the United States.

Our developmental aims during the past two decades have been those of constant improvement to a high degree of excellence and quality. We believe that Dover Court is one of the finest schools of its kind in South East Asia and, not wishing to be accused of complacency, I hasten to add that we work hard every day to make it even better through a policy of strong re-investment in capital projects, equipment and personnel training.

The late Chairman and I subscribe to the basic philosophy that a school, by its very nature, should be entirely child-centred. I am not indulging in an oversimplification - the phrase has a deeply special meaning in our context. It means that the major reason for our being is to educate the child, in the fullest sense of the word, so that we may produce meaningful future members of the World society of which our campus, through the internationalism of our student body, is a microcosm.

This website is designed to give you a brief outline of what we offer. Should you wish to visit the campus or to receive more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
